The
Norwich Waterfront gig was last night and it was FANTASTIC!!
The
band were on top form throughout, Captain and Dave shared the regular
insults (towards themselves and members of the audience), Monty was
hidden behind a glass cage and referred to by Dave as "a wild
animal, but we can't let him out yet as we havn't got insurance for
him!", and Captain was reguarly turning round to let the
ladies smack his backside. I was directly in front of Captain throughout
the whole gig, and Dave at one point came along and directly looked
at me close up whilst holding his hand out towards me (to put it in
perspective, i could have head-butted him if i'd stretched a bit).
Dave's looking older, but his voice was still top-form and able to
keep the audience more than entertained!
The setlist was pretty much filled with all the classic songs you'd
expect at a Damned gig, with some nice rarer songs thrown in for balance
(e.g Little Miss Disaster, Nasty)
One
piece of early 'entertainment' came in the form of the main support
girls, who certainly gave us all a warm welocme and helped us 'settle'
into the spirit!!! At the start of the support, some guy threw a cup
of beer at the host, but she kept cool and ordred the audience to
point him out so the security could 'remove' him. (Whilst he was being
jeered at and insulted by members of the audience, it must be said!)
